Strategy Guide

Overview

Osty is the Necrobinder's loyal companion — it starts each fight at 1 HP and auto-blocks attacks targeting you. Every Summon effect adds HP to Osty. With enough Summon cards, Osty can reach 50-100+ HP, becoming an enormous damage sponge. Reanimate deals damage equal to Osty's current HP. Borrowed Time generates Energy when you Summon. The strategy: feed Osty, protect yourself, then unleash Osty's stored power.

1

Act 1 — Early Game

Bodyguard (starting deck) provides your first Summon source. Invoke is the best Act 1 pickup — it Summons and generates Souls for draw. Wisp is a cheap Common Summon card. Grave Warden is the most important common — it generates Block AND Souls. In Act 1, Osty absorbs most hits for you, so focus on Summon cards over defense. Poke and Flatten provide early damage while Osty tanks.

2

Act 2 — Mid Game

Dirge is the premium Summon card — large HP addition to Osty plus additional effects. Borrowed Time is transformative: gain Energy whenever you Summon. With 3+ Summon cards per turn, Borrowed Time generates 3+ Energy, enabling massive turns. Pull Aggro ensures Osty tanks all incoming damage. Sentry Mode gives Osty attack capabilities. Calcify provides Osty with Plated Armor for passive healing.

3

Act 3 — Late Game

With Osty at 50+ HP, Reanimate deals that amount as damage — often enough to one-shot enemies. Sacrifice kills Osty but deals AoE damage equal to its HP. Forbidden Grimoire (Ancient) provides incredible power if found. Soul Storm deals damage per Soul generated — combined with Grave Warden and Reave, this becomes a secondary win condition. Against bosses, build Osty for 3-4 turns, then Reanimate for the kill.

Card Acquisition Priority

Indispensable
Dirge

Premium Summon card. Large HP boost to Osty with additional effects.

Indispensable
Borrowed Time

Gain Energy per Summon. Turns Summon-heavy turns into explosive Energy generation.

Indispensable
Reanimate

Deal damage equal to Osty's HP. Your primary win condition — 50 HP Osty = 50 damage hit.

Indispensable
Invoke

Summon + Soul generation. Core engine card for both Osty and Soul resources.

Élevé
Grave Warden

Block + Soul generation. The best common card for Necrobinder — take every copy.

Élevé
Wisp

Cheap Summon source. Low cost means you can play multiple Summons per turn.

Moyen
Pull Aggro

Force all enemies to target Osty. Protects the Necrobinder when Osty has high HP.

Moyen
Sentry Mode

Osty attacks automatically. Turns Osty into an offensive weapon alongside being a shield.

Flex / Alternative Cards

When core cards aren't available, these alternatives keep the build functional.

Relic Priority

Best Relics
Phylactère enchaîné
Phylactère enchaîné

Necrobinder's starter relic. Ensures Osty persists and is resummoned automatically.

Sacoche de préparatifs
Sacoche de préparatifs

Draw 2 extra cards turn 1. Find Summon cards faster to build Osty early.

Ancre
Ancre

Start with 10 Block. Extra protection while Osty is still small.

Good Relics
Main momifiée
Main momifiée

Powers cost 0 after playing a Power. Borrowed Time and Sentry Mode benefit greatly.

Os à viande
Os à viande

Heal 12 HP when below 50% after combat. Necrobinder has the lowest HP at 66.

Vajra
Vajra

+1 Strength buffs Reanimate and all attack damage.

Avoid
Pierre philosophale
Pierre philosophale

Enemies gain +1 Strength. Necrobinder's low HP (66) can't afford enemies hitting harder.

Ectoplasme
Ectoplasme

Gold is crucial for purchasing Rare Summon cards and relics from shops.

Runic Dome

Knowing enemy intent matters — you need to decide when Osty blocks vs when to Reanimate.

Boss Strategy Tips

Guardian

Build Osty during early turns. Osty auto-blocks Guardian's attacks while you stack Summons. Once at 40+ HP, Reanimate during Guardian's attack phase for a devastating counter.

Hexaghost

Let Osty absorb the Inferno damage — make sure Osty has 40+ HP before turn 2. After Inferno, Osty survives (losing HP but alive), and you can rebuild or Reanimate for the kill.

Slime Boss

Build Osty past 50 HP, then Reanimate to burst through the split threshold. After the split, Osty continues tanking while you deal with the halves. Bone Shards for AoE cleanup.

Time Eater

Summon-heavy turns can hit the 12-card limit. Be strategic — play Summons and Reanimate, but don't over-extend. Osty's auto-block doesn't count as card plays, which helps.

Collector

Osty is perfect here — it tanks all attacks from the Collector AND minions. Build Osty while minions waste their attacks, then Reanimate the Collector directly.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens when Osty dies?

When Osty reaches 0 HP, it dies but is automatically resummoned at 1 HP next turn (thanks to Bound Phylactery and Die For You). You can rebuild Osty's HP immediately with Summon cards. The one-turn gap is the danger window.

Should I sacrifice Osty or use Reanimate?

Reanimate deals single-target damage and keeps Osty alive. Sacrifice kills Osty but deals AoE damage. Use Reanimate for bosses, Sacrifice for multi-enemy fights. Having both gives flexibility.

How many Summon cards do I need?

6-8 Summon sources is ideal. This ensures you can rebuild Osty quickly even after it takes big hits. Dirge, Invoke, Wisp, and Bodyguard form the core. More is better until your deck gets too diluted.

What's the role of Souls in this build?

Souls are generated by Grave Warden, Invoke, Reave, and other cards. They power card draw and certain damage effects like Soul Storm. Grave Warden is the primary Soul engine — upgrade it early.

Is this build viable without Reanimate?

Yes, but slower. Osty still tanks everything and Sentry Mode lets it deal damage automatically. Bone Shards and other attacks handle damage. Reanimate is the burst finisher, but the build functions without it.
