Poison Build

Stack Poison for passive scaling damage—Noxious Fumes, Corrosive Wave, and Deadly Poison apply damage that bypasses block and defensive modes. Focus purely on defense and survival while Poison ticks; Footwork and Leg Sweep keep you alive. Corrosive Wave plus Acrobatics applies 9+ poison in a single turn; Catalyst can triple poison for burst kills.

Sly Discard Build

The Sly keyword lets discarded cards play for free instead of going to discard. Acrobatics, Prepared, Reflex, and Tactician form the core; Reflex and Tactician refund energy when discarded. Pinpoint deals 17 minus 1 per skill—discard into blocks to make it hit for huge damage. This is the strongest Silent archetype at high level.

Grand Finale Build

Empty your draw pile then play Grand Finale for massive damage. Requires a small deck with heavy draw and discard—Acrobatics, Calculated Gamble, and Prepared. Enchantments and removes help; the deck must consistently empty to enable the finisher. Easier to execute in STS2 than Spire 1 due to less retain punishers.

Shiv Build

Generate Shivs with Blade Dance, Cloak and Dagger, and Knife Trap. Accuracy turns each Shiv into a serious threat. Blade Dance exhausts in STS2, which hurts draw order—Accuracy can brick if drawn after Blade Dance. Still viable for Act 1 damage and pairs with attack-count relics like Kunai.

Boss Strategies

Poison excels here—stack Noxious Fumes, Deadly Poison, or Corrosive Wave before the split so both Large Slimes inherit Poison damage and die quickly. Sly discard builds can burst the boss down with Pinpoint or Precise Cut before the split. Shiv builds struggle because Blade Dance exhausts and Accuracy may not line up; if you're on Shivs, prioritize killing the main boss before 50% to reduce split pressure.

Poison bypasses Defensive Mode and Sharp Hide entirely—apply Noxious Fumes or Corrosive Wave early and focus purely on block and survival. Leg Sweep and Piercing Wail are premium block options. Sly discard builds can loop Prepared and Acrobatics for free blocks while Pinpoint deals damage. Avoid overcommitting attacks during Defensive Mode; let Poison and time do the work.

Minimize attacks on Turn 1 to reduce Divider damage. Silent's Ring of the Snake draws 2 extra cards, helping you find Piercing Wail, Leg Sweep, or block skills. Poison is the safest win condition—Noxious Fumes scales passively. Sly builds can set up Reflex and Tactician on turn one, then dominate subsequent turns. Wraith Form trivializes the fight but plan around the Dexterity debuff.

The Worm adds status cards to your deck; Calculated Gamble now exhausts, which helps thin them. Small decks with heavy removes and transforms minimize status impact. Acrobatics and Prepared cycle past garbage; if you can empty your deck and play Grand Finale, you win. Sly discard is strong—discarded cards play for free, so status-heavy hands still produce value.

BOSSQueen

Queen locks the first cards in your hand each turn. Sly discard bypasses this—discard locked cards and they play for free instead. Retain effects from Prepared (upgraded) or Tools of the Trade help you control what gets locked. Grand Finale decks must empty the draw pile quickly; Pinpoint and Precise Cut deal massive damage when you have few cards in hand.

Pro Tips

Sly is one of the strongest mechanics in STS2—when you discard a Sly card, it plays for free instead of going to discard.

The discard package (Acrobatics, Prepared, Reflex, Tactician) is the dominant strategy; small decks plus removes equal combos that line up every fight.

Pinpoint deals 17 base damage minus 1 per skill in hand—Acrobatics into block cards makes it hit for massive damage.

Poison bypasses enemy armor, Defensive Mode, and Sharp Hide; Noxious Fumes and Corrosive Wave scale passively while you block.

Ring of the Snake's extra 2 cards on Turn 1 is extremely powerful; abuse it to find setup and combo pieces immediately.

Keep your deck lean—the Silent benefits most from consistent cycling; removes and transforms are premium.

Wraith Form is game-winning but the Dexterity loss hurts; plan to end the fight before it matters or stack block beforehand.

Calculated Gamble now exhausts—it still enables combos but can't loop with Reflex; exhaust your deck to win instead.

Prepared plus Acrobatics triggers every Sly payoff; Draw 2 Discard 2 upgraded is disgusting with the discard package.

Blade Dance exhausts in STS2, hurting Accuracy and shiv synergies—poison and Sly are stronger than Shivs.

Leg Sweep and Piercing Wail are among the best block cards; Piercing Wail blocks multi-hit and AoE fights completely.

Don't take Snakebite—it's widely considered one of the worst cards in the game; two energy for a retaining Deadly Poison.
