Master the Regent's dual Star/Energy system, Forge mechanics, and cosmic scaling in Slay the Spire 2.
Power up Sovereign Blade through Forge effects—Seeking Edge, Conqueror, and Falling Star buff the blade. Forge is weaker than star strategies in STS2; Bent Into Shape and Spell of Battle are slow. Pick when you get early Forge cards; otherwise prioritize Glow and star payoffs.
Stockpile Stars with Glow, Hidden Cache, and Shining Strike, then spend them on Gamma Blast, Comet, and Seven Stars. Cloak of Stars blocks when you spend; Particle Wall provides 9 block for 2 Stars. Convergence retains hand; Void Form cheats costs. This is the dominant Regent strategy.
Bombardment is a one-card solve—play it, block every turn, and it deals 18–24 damage. Big Bang generates energy, cards, and Forge; Glow and Convergence enable loops. Strong against multi-enemy fights and bosses; combine with Cloak of Stars and Reflect for block.
Bombardment is a one-card solve—play it, block every turn, and it deals 18–24 damage to a random enemy until the fight ends. Stockpile Stars with Glow and Hidden Cache, then burst with Gamma Blast or Comet to push past 50%. Knockout Blow with starter Venerate deals 38 upgraded damage and can oneshot elites. Cloak of Stars blocks when you spend Stars—critical for survival.
Stockpile Stars during Defensive Mode—don't waste Star payoffs into Sharp Hide. Particle Wall and Cloak of Stars provide block; Reflect deals damage equal to block when you have Stars. Unleash Gamma Blast, Comet, or Seven Stars during attack phases. Convergence retains your hand and generates Stars, bypassing draw order issues. Child of the Stars and Glitter Stream block.
Regent ramps extremely hard—Glow, Shining Strike, and Hidden Cache generate Stars while Falling Star and Venerate provide early options. Minimize Turn 1 attacks to reduce Divider; use Particle Wall for block. Comet costs 5 Stars for 33–44 damage and 3 Weak 3 Vulnerable—loop it with Glow for massive burst. Void Form cheats the first two cards' costs including Stars.
The Worm adds status cards; Regent's Charge exhausts two targeted cards from draw, thinning statuses. Guards transforms hand into Block 9 exhaust cards—targeted Fiend Fire that blocks. Convergence retains hand and helps you loop past garbage. Small deck infinites with Glow and Big Bang bypass status issues if you can exhaust down quickly.
Convergence retains your hand—Queen locks newly drawn cards, not retained ones. Play Glow, Gamma Blast, Particle Wall from retain to avoid locks. Seal Throne (boss relic) gives a Star per card played and enables infinite. Small deck Glow loops with Comet or Gamma Blast payoff win once the loop is established.
Stars persist between turns—stockpile them for explosive burst plays; Glow is the best common and core to most builds.
Cloak of Stars is Mental Fortress—spend 3 Stars, gain 9 Block; make copies and upgrade it.
Convergence retains your hand and gives next-turn energy and Stars; it's Pyramid-like and enables infinites.
Bombardment is a one-card solve for many fights; play it, block, and it deals 18–24 to a random enemy every turn.
AoE is critical in STS2—elites and bosses summon minions; Bombardment, Seven Stars, Reflect, and Radiate handle it.
Rare pool has doubled—build around common/uncommon packages (Glow, Gamma Blast, Particle Wall) rather than rare hunting.
Void Form makes the first two cards free (Energy and Stars); cheat Comet, Particle Wall, and Gamma Blast.
Shining Strike deals 9 damage, gains 2 Stars, places itself on top—draw it every turn for consistent Star gen.
Guards transforms hand into Block 9 exhaust cards; targeted exhaust plus block for setup turns.
Comet costs 5 Stars for 33–44 damage and 3 Weak 3 Vulnerable; second play deals 66—massive loop payoff.
Regent often lacks boss relics; small-deck infinites with Glow, Convergence, and Big Bang compensate.
Forge and Sovereign Blade are weaker than star-based strategies; focus on Stars, not Forge.
