Strategy Guide

Overview

Stars are the Regent's unique persistent resource — they don't disappear between turns. This build exploits that by generating Stars rapidly through Powers and Skills, stockpiling 20-30+, then spending them all at once via Stardust (damage per Star spent) or Seven Stars (massive attack that scales with Stars). Black Hole provides passive damage while you accumulate, and Child of the Stars ensures defense during the buildup phase.

1

Act 1 — Early Game

Glow is your primary Act 1 Star generator — cheap and efficient. Falling Star (starting deck) provides Stars + damage. Venerate (starting deck) also generates Stars. Look for Gather Light and Spoils of Battle for more Star generation. Hidden Cache helps with Energy while building Stars. Don't try to burst in Act 1 — use Stars for Forge on Sovereign Blade as a backup win condition.

2

Act 2 — Mid Game

Black Hole is the mid-game game-changer. It provides passive damage based on Stars each turn, so your stockpile becomes a ticking time bomb. Stardust should be your priority find — it converts Stars into massive burst damage. Seven Stars is the alternative finisher for single-target devastation. Pillar of Creation and Orbit scale with Star generation for additional passive effects. Child of the Stars provides Block based on Stars.

3

Act 3 — Late Game

Against Act 3 bosses, the plan is: spend turns 1-4 generating Stars (20-30+), maintaining defense through Child of the Stars and Block cards, then unleash Stardust or Seven Stars for a one-shot kill. Genesis resets your Energy to max, enabling massive plays. Big Bang and Dying Star serve as supplementary burst options. The Sealed Throne (Ancient) generates Stars automatically each turn if found.

Boss Strategy Tips

Guardian

Use Guardian's defensive mode to stockpile Stars safely. When Guardian attacks, you should have 20+ Stars for a devastating Stardust. Guardian's shell can't withstand a full Star Burst.

Hexaghost

Generate Stars turns 1-2, block the Inferno, then continue building. By turn 5, unleash Seven Stars or Stardust for a one-shot. Black Hole ticks damage while you build.

Slime Boss

Build Stars above 50% HP, then burst past the threshold with Stardust. After the split, accumulated Black Hole damage and remaining Stars handle the halves.

Time Eater

Star Burst plays few cards per turn during accumulation (just Glow, Gather Light). Spend under the 12-card limit while building, then one massive Stardust turn for the kill.

Collector

Ignore minions — they're distractions. Stockpile Stars while blocking minion damage with Child of the Stars. Once at 25+ Stars, Stardust eliminates the Collector regardless of minions.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many Stars do I need for a one-shot?

Most bosses have 300-500 HP. Stardust with 25-30 Stars typically deals enough for a kill, especially with Vulnerable applied. Seven Stars at 20+ Stars also one-shots most bosses.

What if I don't find Stardust or Seven Stars?

Fall back to the Forge build. Sovereign Blade with Stars-fueled Forge cards still provides strong damage. Star Burst needs its finishers; without them, pivot to Forge.

Can I combine Star Burst with Forge?

Yes! Use Forge for consistent damage in shorter fights and Star Burst for boss fights. They share the same Star generation engine. Sovereign Blade with Forge handles hallways while Stardust handles bosses.

Is Star Burst build too slow?

It can be. The 3-4 turn setup phase is a vulnerability. Add enough Block and defensive cards (Bulwark, Child of the Stars, Cloak of Stars) to survive the buildup. The payoff is worth the wait.

Should I spend Stars on small cards or save for burst?

Save for burst against bosses and elites. In hallway fights, spend Stars freely on smaller cards — you don't need 25+ Stars to kill normal enemies. Resource management is the key skill.
